“First Love” is a daily series that has aired on Polsat for 10 years. Set in the scenic city of Wrocław, the lives of its protagonist Marysia Radosz and her friends, including Kinga, Artur and Radek, are closely followed by millions of viewers. The action moves between Wrocław and Wadlew, the small, charming village where the other characters live. The series offers first kisses, dramatic split-ups, reunions, infidelities, intrigue, murders and drug trafficking.
Over 10 years, “First Love” has seen no shortage of thriller action, including even murders. The characters had to earn their living doing all sorts of jobs, some of them unsavory or controversial. After suffering a bout of amnesia Marysia was a go go dancer, businessman Artur drove a sewage truck, and Marysia’s current beau, Aleks, is a cop.
The producers often address important social issues: they have supported babies with leukemia, the Share a Meal campaign and preventive screening. Other issues raised in the series include online hate speech, bulimia, protecting children from online pornography, and teenager “mall girls”.
To date, more than 2000 actors have appeared in “First Love”, including an array of Polish stars, sports celebrities and Miss Polonia 2011, and a number of scenes have been filmed abroad.
