Puls TV, Poland’s third largest commercial television, started filming a new TV series called The Pawn Shop. The show is executively produced by ATM GRUPA subsidiary Studio A, which is behind TV hits such as The Ranch, Honey Years and Kasia and Tomek. The Pawn Shop is set to premiere this fall on TV Puls.
Running a pawn shop can be interesting, exciting and even dangerous, which makes it an ideal subject for a TV show. All these emotions will be featured in a new production called The Pawn Shop. The show, which is due to air in the fall, will be Poland’s first TV series set in the milieu of pawn shop owners. The Pawn Shop is executively produced by Studio A.
‘Positive emotions and great entertainment for the whole family are the hallmarks of Puls TV, and they will be on offer in The Pawn Shop, which has fascinating stories and a rich gallery of characters. I’m happy to work with Studio A, which has a team of outstanding professionals. With their experience, passion and market savvy, The Pawn Shop will be a top-notch production’, said Dariusz Dąbski, CEO of Puls TV.
‘At Studio A, we are very happy to collaborate with Puls TV, a fast-developing channel and an increasingly important player in the Polish television market. We want to tell stories of lives centered around pawn shops. Pawn shops have become a fixture in Polish cities. Their customers not only bring their possessions but also extraordinary stories. We believe the project will be our joint success’, said Maciej Strzembosz, co-owner of Studio A.
The show’s characters include the pawn shop owner, his family and his employees and customers. Their stories will be told in different episodes of the show. Viewers will also be able to follow the stories of pawn shop customers − both old people who need money to get by and young ones who come to pawn their laptops or phones to be able to go party. Regular visitors include thieves, cops and batty deal hunters. Each episode will tell a different story. Many of the stories will have a criminal plot, but there will also be humor.
The show is slated to premiere on Puls TV this fall.
