Bohdan Smoleń dies

Bohdan Smoleń, the unforgettable mailman Edzio in The Lousy World and comedy legend, died on December 15 in Poznań at the age of 69.

Born in Bielsko-Biała, Smoleń studied animal husbandry in Kraków and, from 1968, was part of Pod Budą comedy collective, Kraków, with whom he won first prize at the 1972 Fama Festival, Kraków. In 1977, he joined the Poznań-based Tey comedy group and formed a historic double act with Zenon Laskowik. The two parted ways in the early 1980s.

Smoleń starred in several films including My Mother’s Lovers. From 1999 to 2015 he appeared in The Lousy World series.
