We are proud to announce that our colleague Błażej Przygodzki – a longtime screenwriter for ATM Grupa and co-author of series such as Policjantki i Policjanci, Sprawiedliwi. Wydział Kryminalny, Święty, Uroczysko, Znaki (The Signs), as well as the feature film Selekcja – has been awarded the prestigious Italian Premio Apoxiomeno, often dubbed the “Police Oscar.”

This international honor, awarded under the patronage of the International Police Association, recognizes creators whose work contributes to promoting uniformed services and spreading the ideals of peace, justice, and public safety.

The award citation highlighted Błażej’s exceptional achievements, noting that for years he has crafted police stories marked by realism, dramatic tension, and deep respect for officers in uniform.

“I stood on the stage in Italy, but the award has many recipients,” says Błażej Przygodzki. “Premio Apoxiomeno is the culmination of 12 years of collaboration with a tightly knit team. The co-creators of this success are producers from TV4: Adam Stefanik, Jacek Zakrzewski, Piotr Fajks, and ATM Grupa colleagues: Monika Salińska, Paweł Janosik, Kuba Miszczak, Anna Skowrońska, as well as the directors, actors, screenwriters, and the entire team of talented and dedicated people.”

Premio Apoxiomeno has been awarded for more than 25 years. Among past laureates are well-known figures such as Gina Lollobrigida, Colin Firth, Matt Dillon, Helen Mirren, Ennio Morricone, Nikita Mikhalkov, and Abel Ferrara. Polish recipients include Krystyna Janda and Jarosław Mikołajewski, honored for work promoting democratic values, freedom, respect, and human dignity.

The statuette, depicting a Greek athlete, was designed by Italian sculptor Carlo Badi.

Congratulations, Błażej! This distinction is not only a source of pride but also confirmation that Polish police dramas can resonate internationally.
